Adult Treatment
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR TREATMENT WITH CLEAR ALIGNERS OR BRACES?
59% percent of survey respondents about adult orthodontic treatment said that when they were younger, their parents couldn't afford braces for them or didn't think they were important. Dr. Farnsworth's goal is to listen to your concerns about your teeth and then provide you with an option for treatment that will meet your desires. She will work with your general dentist to ensure that you achieve the optimum esthetic result. This collaborative effort is especially important in treating adults who may have compromised bites and tooth wear due to a lifetime of poor occlusion.
There has been an increase in the number of adults getting treatment because people want straight, beautiful teeth and the improved self-confidence that comes along with that. The adult orthodontic treatment market has grown 27.5% from 2012-2018 according to the AAO.
SureSmile® is providing a very attractive treatment option for adults who want to improve their smiles but want to shorten their time in braces. Treatment time is reduced by up to 40% with SureSmile. This may mean 6-8 months less time in braces. Orthodontic treatment at later stages in life can dramatically improve your personal appearance and self-esteem. Improving the health of your teeth and gums is equally important. Crooked teeth and a bad bite can contribute to gum and bone loss, tooth decay, abnormal wear of the tooth enamel and surfaces, headaches and jaw joint (TMJ/TMD) pain. Suresmile enables Dr. Farnsworth to provide a smile design that is tailored to your needs.
A non-braces option to straighten teeth is treatment with Sureclear aligners. The clear plastic aligners are worn 20-22 hours a day and changed every two weeks to gradually move your teeth to the desired positions. After an initial exam, Dr. Farnsworth will determine if your bite and smile can be improved with aligner treatment. During this initial examination, we can outline the treatment plan, time of treatment expected and the approximate cost. A large percentage of our patients are adults, and they agree that it's never too late to improve their greatest asset - their smile.
